Political Dialogue From the Left, Right, In the Middle - Episode 2513According to the Center for Disease Control and Prevention, 39.8% of American adults are obese, as are 18.5% of children and adolescents aged 2-19 years.
These are staggering statistics and the problem continues to worsen. In part one of this two part series we discuss what is causing this epidemic … and more importantly, what to do about it.

- Dr. Don Forrester, a family doctor of 30 years with the Permanente Medical Group, now affiliated with the McDougall health programs and
- Kevin Gilliland, PsyD, Executive Director of Innovation 360, a clinical psychologist and addiction and substance abuse therapist.

What must Americans do to not only live a healthier lifestyle, but perhaps save our health care system at the same time.
Dr. Mary Warren who joins us on Part Two of this series says,”You can still maintain equilibrium even during the holidays. Balance is ideal now. First, commit to staying active. Second, when going to parties and dinners, don’t go hungry.Have a healthy snack or a veggie & fruit smoothie with protein powder in it at home. Avoid the simple carbs as much as possible. Last, keep yourself hydrated – strive to drink half your body weight in oz.’s of filtered/spring water every day”.
