Should the Electoral College Be Changed? (2609)

Thomas L. Brunell, PhD and Matthew Wilson, PhD

In the last several years there has been considerable discussion regarding the Electoral College. Arguments about changing or even losing the Electoral College altogether have increased since the 2016 election.

Considering that to date there have been 710 attempts to amend the constitution on just this one issue; that it would need super majorities and bi partisan support; it is highly unlikely  any change will take place.

Tune in to hear the arguments from our Constitutional experts on the pros and cons, risks and rewards of keeping the electoral college as it is today.

Thank you for your continued support. The McCuistion Program, a 501 ( C ) ( 3 ) tax exempt organization does not receive any KERA pledge dollars, PBS funds or government grants. The funding which has kept us on the air for 29 years comes from our grantors and viewers.

Your financial contribution is keeping us on the air. Every dollar you donate makes a difference. This is especially important as we do not receive any funding from PBS or other public sources.
