It is very rewarding when a program stimulates discussion and encourages our viewers and us to dive deeper into subjects that we might not otherwise consider.

Jim joined The McCuistion Program as co-host in March 2019. During his two-decade stint as President & CEO of the World Affairs Council of Dallas/Fort Worth, he and the program’s Executive Producer, Niki McCuistion, collaborated together to bring many guests to the Program.

Jim’s interest and expertise in international affairs grew out of spending much of his childhood in the Middle East. Prior to joining the World Affairs Council in 2001, Jim lived in Houston where he was a vice president in the energy division of a major commercial bank. He is a graduate of Washington and Lee University and earned his MA in Foreign Affairs at the University of Virginia.

Over the years, he has interviewed hundreds of global leaders, journalists, authors, and scholars including four secretaries of state, five secretaries of defense, and four CIA directors. Known as a skilled interviewer and moderator, organizations frequently invite him to participate in virtual and in-person events.

Jim is president emeritus of the World Affairs Council of Dallas/Fort Worth and serves on the board of Global Santa Fe. He is a member of the Council on Foreign Relations. He is on the advisory boards of the Asia Society, Texas Center, and the United States Global Leadership Coalition. Jim is a trustee of World Neighbors. He is the honorary consul for the Kingdom of Morocco in Texas and New Mexico.

When not trying to keep up with Niki’s reading list, he can be found cycling or hiking with his beloved dog, “Maddie” in the Sangre de Cristo mountains near Santa Fe, NM. Jim and his wife, Terrell, a retired museum professional, have two children and six grandchildren.

“Few things give me more pleasure than to identify an important issue, find the best experts, and bring a stimulating, smart conversation to our viewers.”
